Councilman Nathaniel Cullars Sr. provided a recording of a portion of the conversation between Jan Anderson, wife of councilman Edwin "Andy" Anderson and himself. Councilman Anderson alleged in an ethics complaint filed on February 3, 2023, that Cullars Sr. "verbally acosted and insulted" his wife, Jan, during the conversation. This is only a portion of the exchange.

Wow! I’m surprised Mr. Cullers turned over that conversation. Has he apologized? I sure would be livid too if I was Mrs. Anderson.
It’s very interesting that you did not ask me to give the other side of the situation. There are always 2 sides.
As I have mentioned to you Jan, the complaint filed by your husband was your side. I asked you if it was accurate and you have told me that it is. If I had not contacted the person the complaint was made against, councilman Cullars in this instance, I would have only been presenting your side and that is not fair or accurate reporting. The complaint is embedded in the article in full and as your husband filed it. I did not write an article only presenting councilman Cullars account of what happened. The complaint was the catalyst for the article.
Calling any veteran a fake is calling all veterans a fake. These are men and women who have given arms, legs and lives so that the USA remains a free country. Appalling behavior!
he does have freedom of speech which is a protected amendment. i agree with Councilman Cullars.
I have to ask, what military spouse of
30 years would allow this type of bullying at any time much less in a public municipal forum? Did Mr Cullars expect me to ignore his hurtful and false words ? I could not and will not bow to bullying and hateful words. This is not the first time he has done so. He told his side of the event to the informer and I hope that I will get to tell mine
I've seen more ethics complaints being filed then progress to get the city moving forward.
WTF
Cullers is a thug and if you can’t see that you’re probably one to…
I’m glad that you had an opportunity to interview Mrs Anderson. I believe Mr Cullers, as a councilman, should extend an apology to her. I, too, would have been offended if he spoke to me that way. I expect civility from my councilmen.
Would you also expect the councilmen and mayor who voted to strike Cullars and Mahoney's items from the agenda to apologize to them and to the citizens they represent? The items such as 2-3 times higher utility bills in January because of the freeze are important to many people and voting to strike that from the agenda is extremely disrespectful and just plain rude. It seems there are different rules for different councilmen.
